How are your job's intangibles?
Personally, I like my job, and the intangible benefits are a big reason why. I have a relatively mellow boss, the leave policy is first-class, the workload is easily manageable, flextime makes the workday as short as I want it to be, the high-stress times are few and far between, we have subsidized transportation in the form of a free bus pass...

If only they'd hook us up with food, but then, I'd have nothing at all to whine about.

I could (probably) make more money somewhere else, but the intangible perks wouldn't be nearly as good.

How do your workplace intangibles rate?

1. Very highly.
I can work from home whenever I want (like right now);

When I do work at the office, my office has windows and my own balcony;

I designed the entirety of my system and how I do my job, so nobody else has any clue and they stay out of my way;

My boss is a great mentor, and keeps me on a very long leash (more of an electric fence);

I work with two REALLY hot chicks, so the view in the office isn't all out the windows.

Should probably knock wood now (knock, knock).

2. pretty good
I am mostly left alone to do my job and never hear anything bad from anyone unless I fail to get it done. There are long periods of light workload days, offset by short periods of insane workloads, but all in all, not bad at all. I just wish the pay was better. I would take a more demanding job to make more money, if the difference was significant, but so far this is the best paying gig I've been able to find.

3. So So
Both my bosses are high strung and drive everyone crazy. We sort of make our own hours, as long as you are in by a certain time. No true flex time.
Lots of food EVERYWHERE. Birthday parties with cake and pie once a month. And a really nice cafe for lunch (its too nice to call it a cafeteria).
The building itself is attractive and well done (pictures, nice decor, etc).
Benefits are not too bad..I love the THREE weeks of sick leave per year, along with up to 3 weeks of vacation and 2 floating holiday.

4. Well since my "job" isn't a paying one
I can wear my pjs all day (unless I need to go out). I don't have a boss. I can goof of on DU most days, or play games online. I can take a bubble bath in the middle of the day. etc...

Down side is I never get a day off.

5. Once-in-a-lifetime awesome.
I'm shockingly fortunate in my working life. The pay is a bit of a downer, but the kind of slack (read: trust) I get is priceless. So while I could use better money (what working stiff couldn't?), but I don't think I'd leave this place for anything less than a $10,000 bump, that's how precious the intangibles are to me.

6. absolutely beyond reproach...
Laid back atmosphere, and easy to sneak out early when need be.

Kitchen is stocked every monday with sandwich fixings, soft drinks, chips, bottled water, etc... Fresh coffee ALWAYS on hand. There's a huge candy bowl, too- but I wish that would disappear. They order take-out probably once per week on the company.

Corporate fitness plan, and they pay the bulk of my gym membership- I only pay about 10 dollars per month.

but it still is no good. I'd rather have no job, but the same money.

15. I work at a large university in a college town. Its all about intangibles....
I get aggravated about the hassles of a college town, and working at a university, but find that many, many people are envious of the environment.
