3. I am sad today.
I had three cats this morning. Now I have two and they are both asleep. I miss her. I wasn't going to start a RIP thread, because of how GD: P has been for fear the hatred may come over here and hurt even more, but I miss my baby. She had cancer. It was sarcoma cancer.

Everybody is talking about cats. Of course, they are, it's the Lounge. I know.

Still, she was always here for me to cuddle when I took a nap on the couch. It's hard without her here. She really was the perfect cat. Never sharpened her claws anywhere except where she was supposed to or did anything wrong ever. *sigh*

18. Yogi is her littermate.
He keeps looking out the window to her grave. Usually, this time of day, he would be in here in my room with me looking out the window at animals in the neighborhood. Right now, he is in my aunt's room looking out at Domino's grave. He did eat his treats earlier, so there is a sign, he won't try to quit eating, or anything like that, on me. He is very close to me. It really is unusual for him to stay with my aunt after she has gone to bed and not come in here with me.

Sunday Girl is 16 years old. The running joke about her is that she doesn't like cats. She was raised on a baby bottle by me, so she didn't really know what a cat was until Yogi and Domino came inside to live with us.

20. My two are also littermates and I dread what will happen when we lose one of them. But maybe
the one left behind will be ok. I pray I have another 5 years before I have to find out.

21. I was so shocked that she developed this cancer,
the tumors especially, so fast. Once that tumor showed up, it was the size of a golf ball within 2 to 3 weeks. I had the vet removed it and send it off, even though he said he thought it was sarcoma, just to be sure. It was. After she came home, the tumors just broke out. At first, she seemed to be just normal, but had the tumors. Over the last couple of days, though, she started becoming listless and could barely get up. The only time she lifted her head was to answer me when I talked to her. I could tell she was really feeling bad.

I dread walking through the living room now to go help my aunt. Domino always spoke to me in her little trilling voice every time I went through. Now, it's so quiet. Yogi is kind of mourning right now, but I think he'll be all right. I hope he will. So far so good. I just hope he stays his little sweet self and doesn't go downhill missing her too much.

5. I'm very sorry.
:(

I'm holding on to one cat who has cancer, and I don't know how long he'll be here. So every day I'm thinking about what it will be like when he's gone. :(

I have two other cats too, but no cat is a substitute for another.

10. I know. They each have their own personality.
Domino was one of those no bones about it type of cats who always did everything, got it done, and didn't ask for much at all except a little love every once in a while. She was my cuddle buddy, too, which makes it even harder. :(

13. I hope so.
The last couple days, she was hurting so bad and couldn't get comfortable. She only lifted her head if I spoke to her. She wouldn't even respond to her brother, Yogi. Only to me.

16. So sorry to hear this J...

It's so, so hard to lose a beloved pet. They really are family members. It's all the more difficult when you get the "it's just a cat" vibe from non-animal-people. :grr:

19. I'm having a hard time with it.
I'm having a lot harder time than I expected too. I thought I would be able to take it a little better than this considering I knew since Christmas that it would have to happen because that's when she was diagnosed. She was such a sweet girl.

14. Yes, it is.
I thought between Christmas when I had a tumor removed and now, I would come to terms with it better than this, but I still miss her so terribly. I just gave Sunday Girl her medicine and Yogi a treat. After he ate his treat, he looked around then went and looked out the window. I think he knows that's her grave out there. He usually goes and gets her treat (I always offered her one even though she didn't like any kind of treats and never ate them) after he eats his treat at medicine time. He looked out the window instead just now. It felt weird only giving one cat her medicine. It's been years of the same routine every other day giving both Sunday Girl and Domino their medicine. It is going to take a while to get used to this.

25. She was the glue that held this family together.
It seems today, we've all missed her more than usual too. Holidays are the hardest times without pets. I know it can be frustrating finding somewhere to keep them calm during holidays for some, but it is harder when they are not there at all. The only non dry cat food she liked was Arby's Roast Beef. We won't be eating there for a while, sadly. I just don't think I can go there just yet.
