Damn, I had to take my dog to the Vet today, my dog tore a ligament in her knee. |
|
She was limping since yesterday.
She is now on some pain meds and sleeping.
It is hard to see your animal injured.

4. Thanks CaliforniaPeggy. |
|
She has to go back in two weeks.
The Dr. was talking about surgery, but the cost is huge.

9. The cost is huge but the consequences of not doing it |

can be heartbreaking. Our rescue Elwood popped an ACL almost 4 years before we got him. Surgery has less than a 10% chance to help him now. It's hard watching him try to sit or lay down. Doesn't seem painful. Yet. The vet assures us that will be coming.

and so hard to keep them quiet so that they can heal properly. My dog broke her leg last year and we ended up having to keep her sedated and in a kennel with only walking to go outside. It was insanely heartbreaking. Hope your furbaby heals up quickly :hugs: to both of you

5. She is on pain meds now but she is so active. |

I don't know how she injured herself.
She will be 7 years old in a few months, she can't run for awhile.

My old beagle broke both front legs last year jumping off the couch. It tore me up watching her go through that.

11. Mine's been going through the same thing - |
|
I was trying to go the no-surgery route, even ordered a brace from Canada figuring I'd still want the brace even if he had surgery. Well - now I think I need to get him in to surgery. Every time he starts doing a little better and stop limping so much he'll move the wrong way and re-tweak it. I want him to have some sort of life this summer - hiking and swimming are big parts of it - and the rate he's going he's going to be on lockdown for the rest of his life. :( I've thinking surgery is more and more necessary. Thank god for credit cards. :(

Having torn a ligament in the knee, I can only imagine how your poor dog must feel.
She is lucky to have a good owner like you :hi:
