Please identify this tiny wildflower?
There doesn't seem to be a flora-oriented forum, so here goes:

Seen in Los Angeles, if that matters. I don't have any idea of where or how to look for the identity of this little one. Thank you for any assistance. Sorry that my tiny camera doesn't have better magnification.

Here's a nice yellow fellow just for grins:

2. The yellow is just plain
oxalis - it's a huge weed in my yard. But the flowers are pretty. They come in yellow, white and pink.

25. The yellow one
is Oxalis pes-caprae, the so-called Bermuda buttercup. (IIRC, it's actually from South Africa.) You're right about it being a bad weed in frost-free climates -- though I once saw a pot of it proudly displayed at the Chelsea Flower Show. In Britain it has to be cosseted to bring it through the winter.

Another vote for the blue one being a lupin, but I don't know enough about the genus to hazard a guess which one.

3. I can't see the foliage on the first one
but if the leaves are palmate (sorta like a pot plant), then it's probably a lupine.

4. That's what I was going to say. They grow all over the open lands in So Cal.
Nice purply-blue blossoms. Pretty.

9. Lupine sounds right.
It has the color and form of a lupine.

10. Yes, it does look a lupine but the leaves would help with ID.
Picture of a different variety with leaves:

12. It can't be a lupine because there was absolutely no sign of Dennis Moore.

13. I can't decide
whether to love you for saying that, or be ticked off at you for saying it before me. :P So I'll go with the following set of conflicting smileys in an attempt to better convey my range of feelings regarding this incident: :yourock: :grr:  :banghead:

Well played, sir. :hi:

 I'm actually pretty firmly entrenched on the "that is awesome" side, but for the sake of being a drama queen I had to bust out my librul outrayge. :silly: :toast: Peace.

7. Does this look like the same flower?

This is a tiny flower that grows wild here in Texas called a Calypso Orchid.

8. That's larger and has fronds. The one I found is smaller than a dime, flower-wise.
Thank you to every one for posting replies!

11. What are flowers?
Sorry. Cabin fever, temps in the 30s aiming for low 40s today, and still snow on the ground.

Tell me again why I live in the Northeast. GAAAAAAhhhhhhhh...

Seriously--preeeeetty pictures. Sorry I can't help identify the posies.

14. The flowers are for those who need reminding of what's to come.
And the warm climes of LA are overrated- That Eagles song "Hotel California" is actually correct!

But the flowers almost make up for it, so one tends to pay more attention to them...Hope your winter ends shortly!

17. I do understand
My brother lives in Riverside. He mocks our spring snowstorms, and I mock his 90-degree spring temps and brown skyline. 'Course, I shouldn't laugh--it's gonna be even uglier when we visit him in July...
