Getting my MFA is where I actually become competent in what I do (money is not an issue, because there is no money in what I do). I think undergrad programs really don't matter.... it's just a way for someone to find what they're interested in, learn organization and critical thinking skills, etc. Then, if there's something you're passionate about, go for the master's.

50. I have an Eng Lit degree by default-- |
|
How by default, you may ask, if you cared? It's like this: I started trying to major in Biology (I was strong in Biology--not really good at all in Chem--alas), but I recognized my lack of skills (although I did pass Calc 1 and Calc 2--my Math major BF notwithstanding--no, withstanding helping me study and with one take-home exam. He withstood fine.) I got into somthing called "Psychobiology", and went from thence to Psychology, and at last Eng Lit. I was simply determined to get a degree in whatever I was apt to get a degree in. Eng Lit won. So I have a four year degree--but I mostly rely on my practical experience, I'd say.

57. Nah, I went to university instead. |
|
Up here in the Great White North, t's a little different, at least in the way we refer to it. "College" means "community college", while "University" is where you get a degree. So when I hear "college graduate", I think the person went to some business or vocational school rather than an actual university.

Though some our university are comprised of colleges used in a different sense. Also a couple of well known specialist colleges are even more highly regarded than universities (e.g., the Royal College of Art, Royal College of Music).

Political Science, Arizona State. I'm only 17 credits shy of graduation.
School and I never agreed with each other. I dropped out of high school and got a GED.
Thankfully I'll be graduating in the summer. I hope.
