Kitten Pics, yeah they're cute.........
I thought I'd post a few pics of our new kittehs.....They were born last Friday and have been expertly cared for by their MomCat.

Mom, avoiding the flash, not a problem for the kittens.....

2. Those are amazingly beautiful babies!
:loveya:

I hope they all end up in very loving happy homes and have long healthy lives. :)

I'm glad the Momma cat looks happy and healthy after the birth of her litter. Are you going to have her fixed now, or keep her breeding?

7. Fixed....She was a feral that followed my wife home
We were going to have her spayed, but, our Vet doesn't spay pregnant cats and, while I am pro-choice, I can't vouch for the Cat. But, she and her offspring will be fixed when appropriate.

8. Awesome!
I remember you posting about this. Very cool!

Having been feral, you'll probably have a wonderful bug and mouse hunter protecting your home now. :)

9. I wouldn't know, Mom followed my wife home
although, about 10 days ago, a large cat that looked amazingly like our MomCat here was hanging out in front of the house and this Cat and MomCat were communicating with MomCat making some very odd half growl half meow sounds, so maybe....

12. hmm... y'never know how cats are gonna come out.
We got one Siamese and three tuxies from a feral dilute tortie and a tuxy.

We fostered a tiny fluffy black mommy who had a beautiful gray, a gorgeous black, and twin black/brown tabbies

And our Skittles, a dilute tortie, had a tuxy, a black/brown with white tabby, a fluffy black, and a mostly gray dilute tortie.

We've been really lucky in seeing feline genetic variations.

All that doesn't have anything to do with your beautiful kittens.

They're fabulously gorgeously wonderfully beautiful!

Do you have a name for MomCat?

When they have babies, you just don't know what you're going to get. :)

17. keep her locked in, they can go into heat very fast and if they do, the newborn
babies suffer , I speak from experience.

28. May I second that?
A feral Mom had her babies in my basement, and was out geting knocked up by the time the kittens were just motoring around on their own. I took her to the vet for spaying when I heard the sounds of Hot Kat on Kat Action coming from the backyard, and she was already pregant with 7 kittens. :(

29. What a great way to start my day
Makes me want to adopt some more (unfortunately not an option)

Although I have to make a correction (I know, stupid of me to care since the terms are often used interchangeably but for irrational reason I do) - While it is common to call all unowned cats feral cats, it is more accurate to call MomCat a stray rather than a feral cat. A feral cat isn't tame enough to let any human close to it. You can pretty much only re-domesticate them if you get them right at the age to take them from their mother (8 weeks or so). Even then, some feral cats are never tamed.

From Wikipedia:

A feral cat is a cat which has been separated from domestication, whether through abandonment, loss, or running away, and becomes wild. It may also refer to descendants of such cats, but not to wild cats, whose ancestors were never domesticated. The deed term is distinguished from stray cat (or alley cat) in that while unowned, a stray cat still exhibits temperament similar to that of a tame pet. In popular usage, both terms are sometimes used interchangeably.
