Are there any credit card providers that aren't bloodsucking ....
weasels? I currently have a Visa card through Bank of America. I'm not happy with them. I want to roll over my small balance to another card. Suggestions?

1. Credit unions are usually good for that
USAA (the military credit union) provides great value in just about all of their financial services - I would recommend them if you are eligible. But most credit unions are going to be better than the likes of BOA or Citi.

2. According to Ellis Jones in The Better World Handbook,
The top choice of credit cards is Working Assets Credit Card (www.workingassets.com/creditcard), followed by Salmon Nation Visa Credit Card Shorebank Pacific (www.eco-bank.com).

The next suggestion is Nonprofit Affinity Credit Cards -
MBNA and Chase offer cards that will donate 1/2% of every purchase made to a nonprofit organization of your choice (with no annual fee).

MBNA - www.mbna.com/creditcards/enviro_causes.html (includes Defenders of Wildlife, Humane Society and National Wildlife Federation).

Chase Bank - www.chase.com/pages/chase/pf/creditcards (includes Amnesty International, ASPCA and World Wildlife Fund).

Citizens Bank Shared Interests Visa - www.citizensbank.ca - every time you use your card, Citizens Bank puts 10 cents into a donation pool to support not-for-profit initiatives for effecting positive social, economic and environmental change. This comes at no cost to you. Card users vote to determine which groups get the donations. Citizens Bank also offers cards that raise money for Amnesty International and Oxfam Canada.

This is information culled from The Better World Handbook, page 64.

4. Working Assets is great
I had them for years as my home telephone provider, and it allowed me to send money to the ACLU, NARAL and a couple of others. I didn't know they provided credit cards; I'll check into it.
