We Will Now Become A Spreadsheet
our lives that is, for lawyers to look at, and a judge to order what was brought into being legally, no longer a legal agreement.

In an uncontested way, we will part ways, our lives over the last 18 years reduced to a spreadsheet and a lot of questions.

This day had to come, it is just not something that has been truly looked forward to other than to move along, get out of limbo, and go our different ways that we've already begun to go.

I'm not happy, I'm not sad. I'm more just numb these days. Numb and lonely.

We have a wonderful son.

Well maybe a little sad that things didn't go differently a long time ago.

Thanks

1. I'd try the trite cliche's, but it's a bit early.
18 months from now is whole different world. Getting there sucks.

2. Now?
We?

--------------------------------------------------------------
1492. As children we were taught to memorize this year with pride and joy as the year people began living full and imaginative lives on the continent of North America. Actually, people had been living full and imaginative lives on the continent of North America for hundreds of years before that. 1492 was simply the year sea pirates began to rob, cheat, and kill them.

14. I'm sorry.
I didn't give your post the attention it deserved
before responding. Divorce is painful in so many ways
and for me at least, the pain lingered for far too long.
About the only advice I can offer is take care of your health
and stay busy. Good luck.

3. I'm sorry to hear that SPK.
Trust me, I've been there (not divorce) but the numb and lonely. Sometimes that is the best way to protect yourself...:(

9. Numb and lonely is perfectly normal, SPK.
As you know, you need to grieve the passing of this relationship before you can move on, and before that you need to deal with the legal dissolution. It's tough all the way around.

My offer still stands: PM me rants, ravings, crying jags, whatever.

:pals:

Such a difficult and painful thing to do. I know you are numb now, perhaps you have already felt most if the grief preemptively.
