|
I'm just really sick of GD-P these days. When Democrats bash Democrats, the Repukes are the only winners.

3. My husband and I have stopped watching his show. Reason: He's completely biased. |

Last night on Charlie Rose's show, Dem. Gov. Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania said that Obermann should be on Barack Obama's payroll!
We've also tired of his WORST PERSON in the WORLD and the other "funny" features of his show. We're listening to classical music instead.
If this should be moved to GD-P, so be it.

15. Didn't Ed Rendell justify his political arm twisting on racial grounds though? |
|
Also do you think it's wise to passive agressively endorse John McCain like she did?

Please bring it up at the next meeting.

5. SportsCenter hasn't been the same since he left |
|
He's not Myvydas...he's not Yourvydas...he's Arvydas. It's deep, and I don't think it's playable. He beats him like a rented goalie!

7. After seeing MSNBC's ratings, maybe KO will go back to sports. |
|
On another subject, you should have heard Larry King do "color" sports TV announcing for the venerable Miami Dolphins. He was fantastic, but I'm going back to the early 1970s.

He is extremely intelligent and has a wicked sense of humor. His show is always fresh.
It's a shame some feel the need to bash him because he tells the truth.

where it belongs.
I have a suspicion many viewers will return to the KO fold at that time.

20. Olbermann is like the worst handicappers I know in Las Vegas |
|
They completely vary their priorities and focus depending on which side they favor to begin with. It's so blindly biased it's hysterical.
If a team they like has great special teams, then suddenly special teams is the most vital factor to success. If the opponent is on a hot streak, they insist momentum is overrated.
Similarly, Olbermann could be in a coma for months and miss every twist in the primary race. Then present him the base facts, but without identifying which side they attach to. Olbermann would be pricelessly paralyzed. He wouldn't know if having a radical pastor for 20 years was the crime of the century, or something to be shoveled aside via a softball interview. He wouldn't know if re-votes in Michigan and Florida are absolutely necessary to preserve sacred integrity, or something to be mocked, the desperate flails of a doomed campaign.
And that's the definition of pathetic. You want classy analysts on our side, not desperate slantboard parodies who abuse juvenile terms like Fox Noise Channel and Bill Orally. I was as much of an Olbermann fan as anyone on this site when he began the nightly dissection of Bush and Co., but he lost me long before the primaries.

as he was never heavy-handed (except about this admin, which is ok.)
I haven't watched recently, but i understand he's become heavy-handed/one-sided about dems, and I don't think I'd like to see that.
(Also, he's gaining weight!)

23. That reminds me of a recent feature in Parade where they featured The World's "Worst Dictator" |
|
I wasn't sure if that meant that he treated the people he ruled more cruelly than other dictators or if he was really bad at his job and he treats his subjects really well. Likewise, I wonder what it means to be the "best" tv newsman. Does it mean that he actually upholds the standards of true journalists, i.e. lack of personal bias and dedication to finding and presenting the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the fruth, or does it mean that he is the best at presenting only those facts that support a preconceived agenda like the rest of his corporate media brethren. At first, I always thought that he was more in line with the first but, lately it seems like he is letting his own personal leanings affect his work. While I am eternally grateful that he is able to be on TV holding Bush and his enablers' feet to the fire, I hope that he doesn't get too carried away that he damages his own credibility.
