14. I was born on his birthday
My dad was a big birthday rememberer, and he wrote LBJ to tell him his daughter was turning two on August 27, 1964. I got a letter from the White House social secretary congratulating me - Mom decoupaged it, and i still have it.

They turned my desk into a tomb - black crepe paper everywhere, tombstones adorning my chair and desk, and a commemorative poem with a silly picture of me posted on the window so all the doctors going by could see it and laugh!

46. Ouch.
:( I've always thought that my birthday was pretty bad (I was born the day the Challenger exploded), but a few summers ago I was working at a summer camp for kids, and when I was filing away the release forms, I came across one from a little girl who was born on September 11, 2001. :scared: First of all, it made me feel really old, but it also made me feel really bad for her...that's got to really, really suck. :(

It does make a difference, if you are born on a terrible day or if your first week of life is scrambled by some awful, unbelievable event that no one could ever foresee.

31. Here's mine.

At least it's not Nixon!

But I'm British so this is the guy who counts:

FYI, it's Harold Wilson, for the second time around. He was PM 1964-1970 and then again in 1974-1976. It was under him that homosexuality and abortions were made legal and capital punishment was ended. Divorce laws were reformed also. However the pound was devalued under him, and in his later term (between 1974 and 1976) he called in the International Monetary Fund for a loan.

Poor guy however suffered from Alzheimer's and quit in 1976, partly due to the disease.

Mark.

I'll have to check again - I had always labored under the impression that Harold Wilson was PM when I was born, but apparently not. I'll Google to see who it was in 1962.

Edit: AHA! Another Harold - Macmillan!

Actually, very fortunately, I was born just 11 days before Ronald Reagan took office. So I'm still a Carter Administration baby :woohoo:

This is Malcolm Fraser, the Prime Minister of Australia when I was born. A conservative Prime Minister whose circumstances of elevation to office were very dubious indeed but who was a very progressive and visionary leader nonetheless and a crusader against racial discrimination and prejudice. In recent years he has been an outspoken critic of the * Administration. He was a moderate conservative who interestingly enough is now reviled by his own party (which has become very reactionary and ultra-conservative in recent years) but who has been embraced by progressives
