2. Since it was on, like, every mix tape I ever made a love interest when I was young... |
|
..."Is There Something I Should Know?" would have to be it for me. Although, there aren't many songs by DD I don't like.

17. Those are all great songs... |
|
...but even you, being the highly enlightened Duran Duran listener that you are, would have to admit that those are songs most ardent Duran Duran fans would be hard pressed to identify. Now, Planet Earth is another story. If I had one more slot on the poll, that would have made it.

Thanks for doing this poll, Sailor. Brought back some happy memories of me and my girlfriends, slumber parties, learning new dance moves, and talking about boys. I graduated high school in 1987, so my high school years were filled with Duran Duran albums. :)

28. Is this a good thread to retell my dissing Simon Lebon story? |
|
I'll assume your answer is yes.
So my girlfriend is the biggest Duranee of all time. In fact, she published her own 80's retro magazine and got to interview John Taylor in his home.
So a few years ago she wins back stages passes to Duran Duran at Jones Beach. But it was the 2nd set of tickets she won from the radion station that week so she gave them my name. Then her childhood friend, also a huge Duranee, decided to come up that weekend, so my gf gives us the backstage passes and I have the supreme mission of getting John Taylor's autograph on the magazine cover that she published.
I was so zoned in on getting John Taylor's autograph, that when Simon jumped in front of me, all eager to sign something, I doltishly waved him on and said, that's okay, you can go to the next person. He actually looked a little disappointed for a split second.
I really heard it when I got back to my gf. She was like, "Yes, I wanted John Taylor's autograph! But that doesn't mean I didn't want Simons!"
It's been several years. I hope they've both forgiven me.
