1. anyone want a big fluffy kitty that pees at the front door if you dont let it play in the yard?
that's right, Malawai, will pee inside the front door if you dont let him out to play. If you let him out to the back he makes a run for the shed where he jumps over the fence and runs for it just like Steve McQueen in the Great Escape.

We'll stick him in a box and mail him out Second Day mail if you would like to give this little bastard a home.

(kidding, we would NEVER hurt a kitteh. I think he needs a kitteh Psychiatrist)

finally she literally attacked the dog badly enough that we had to find her a new home.

still i never disliked her. she was a PITA.

9. yes, 3 tanks of fish.
An 11 ft wall full of tanks..they are my son's. He married and moved out almost a 1 1/2 years ago and they are still here. Hopefully this spring he'll finish up his fish room at his house and he can get them moved.

I guess it's not so much I don't like the fish..I've grown fond of them and feel awful(I even cried once) if one dies..it's just I would really like the space they take up back.

10. I used to.
Had a Siamese Fighting Fish left with me by a friend who moved out of state. For some reason, she thought the thing was "responsive".

Hell, as far as I'm concerned, fish are barely alive.

Anyway, it was so old, I didn't have to take care of it for very long.

14. I can't imagine having a pet I did not like.
Besides a reptile...which Little MB has been begging for but I have until now managed to avoid.

I have two dogs and a cat. I adore all of them to pieces - and each one of them does stuff that really pisses me off.

Example - yesterday, I turned off the shower and the cat jumped in the tub with me. He does this all the time to catch the drops from the faucet - but this time, he decided he needed to pee and was too lazy to get out and use his box (next to the tub I might add) so he just did it in the tub - with me standing there - looking at him in shock.

Even with that, I still love him....

Do you dislike your pet?

23. okay - you and the dog should just sever the ties now....
Tell whiney dog to poop at someone else.

Not for anything - I am one of those love me, love my dog type of people. Mr MB is not a dog person at all, but he has come to deal well with the dogs. The little one even sleeps with me and growls at anyone (including LITTLE MB) who approaches once I am asleep. She lets Mr MB in the bed, and when Little MB is in the bed with me, the little one is fine with her - it's only when people approach the room once I have fallen asleep - she is my 10 pound bodyguard.

22. no really he POOPS AT ME. as in, he poops in the house ONLY in protest.
for instance, once i stiopped him from eating the cat poo. i clear away the cat poo, turn around come back and he's pooped. (literally walked less than an hour ago)

i dont let him in the bedroom, because my asthma is back. the door is open for like 5 minutes, he comes into the bedroom and poops in it. (had been walked 10 mins before)

so yeah, he poops AT me spitefully

19. Well...
I'm not too fond of our alpha male kitteh when he pees all over the front door. And the back door. And the furniture. And the foot of the stairs. And other places I haven't found yet. However, I kind of understand why he does it--the house we moved into two years ago has the 1800s windows that extend down to about a foot above the floor, and he can now see the outdoor cats that come into HIS yard and stare at him through the windows and back sliding glass door. He's an indoor kitteh and he he's frustrated that he can't go outside and kick their feline asses.

And I keep threatening to turn our female part-Persian neurotic runt into a fur hat because she NEVER poops in the litter boxes--usually just outside them instead, so I have to invest in plastic dropcloths for Her Stinkiness. And she's lucky she's not a chapeau by now, because she's taken to pooping in the upstairs hallway whenever our other female uses her as a cat toy (pounce pounce pounce).

But hate them? No, I don't hate them. They're part of the family--and weird enough to fit in just fine.

36. No!
I had a hard time connecting with my pup (now dog) for a little while due to my own stress, but she has become a member of my family. I can't imagine life without her. She knows when I am down, and makes a point of snuggling me and licking me when she notices my distress. She is an angel, despite her damn barking! I consider myself lucky to have her in my life. I saved her from a shelter, but she, in many ways, saved me. I know that sounds a little kooky, but it is true!

37. Yes, guinea pigs that my stepdaughter left with us when she moved out
When the stepdaughter moved in she had one ancient 5 or 6 year old guinea pig who looked like she was going to expire any second. Two weeks later the damned thing had gained weight and was running around her cage like a spring, um, guinea pig. So the stepdaughter went out and bought another guinea pig to keep the first one company. When she moved to her own house, she left the guinea pigs with us for our then 2 year old daughter, who had no interest in them at all. The old guinea pig finally died the day before Christmas in 2007, so now I only have 1 guinea pig to take care of. I know it's not a lot, but we have a 5 year old kid, 5 dogs and 4 rats, which I infinitely prefer to the guinea pig - much more social and interactive. When Spot the remaining guinea pig goes, that's it for guinea pigs in our house.

38. It is not that I don't....
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 12:55 PM by Tikki
love 11 year old Tikki the dawg, I do.....

Things changed so radically in our home when she was around seven. Our son moved back
into the home with a year old baby.
I had to become mother to the baby...I know Tikki was confused...she had been the baby
in the house for so long.

She reacted by barking excessively and she became more demanding...in and out all the time.
Sometimes she would bark to come in and then turn right around and scratch on the door to out again.

Things have gotten better since my son and grandchild have moved into their own home this month.
I noticed the more time I spend with Tikki the more calm she appears to be.

I hope I can make her senior years peaceful...

Tikki

39. Our senior cat in his last months was pretty difficult
We were never really sure if it was all senility or if he was just astoundingly spoiled. We had litter boxes and puppy pads all over the house but he'd still pee pretty much wherever he felt like it. He used to get me up in the middle of the night to feed hi, which I did because I knew he couldn't eat dry food anymore. So there I'd be at 3:00 am opening various flavors of fancy feast and strained-meat baby food until I found just the one His Majesty was craving at that particular moment. Then I'd go back to bed and in half an hour he'd get me up again--either because he'd forgotten he just ate or because he wanted some company, never could quite decide.

40. A bird
Quaker parrot. Fairly well behaved actually. For a bird.

Messy. Spills all his water every single day - doesn't seem to matter how it is dispensed. This single trait means that he must be boarded if I leave for the weekend - or longer. Teases the dog that wants to kill him - and has just recently learned to call the dog by name. Throws seeds and pellets at the dog. The bird dander/litter trigger asthma attacks in one family member that visits and sometimes stays for extended periods. He is very cage protective and doesn't like to be handled - and is reluctant to overcome these traits. Sometimes he does step ups and sometimes he refuses and runs away. He has a strong preference for gloved right hand index fingers. He's a strong flyer so I try to keep his wings clipped. That's a difficult two person job and I am single and live alone. He will bite but isn't aggressive and bites are usually more of a nip. If you can actually hold the little stinker he does like to be petted - but only briefly.

Although he isn't particularly vocal, he has a small vocabulary and mimics sounds. He has an infectious laugh and can wolf whistle. He sometimes says "hello" but it sounds more like "yellow." He sometimes says "owww" when he bites. Sometimes he just laughs when he bites. He squawks when I tell the dog to speak. And he says "go away" when I am cleaning his cage. Don't know where he learned that as he came with that particular ability.

I think he is about four years old. I got him and his cage from a pet store that was less than an hour from going out of business. I was afraid of what might happen to him. Having had him for several years now I really think he was probably neglected for some time before he came to me. He would probably do well in a home with no other animals and someone who had more experience than I working with birds. He really isn't a badly behaved bird.

I intermittently try to look for a new home for him without much success. He still has about another 20 years or so of life expectancy. Anybody want a bird?
