Freeware recommendations: mp3 editors

Does anyone have a good program that will edit mp3s to ringtone length? I tried ToneThis last night and had 9 kinds of trouble getting it to save to the right directory (it kept wanting to text my phone and use the phone to download, which is stupid, because I can cable the phone direct to the computer and, you know, do it for free.)

I'm not looking for much, just a simple free mp3 editor.

Free, easy to use and will solve almost all of your MP3 recording problems.
