1. It's a pure waste of natural resources |

That includes the drivers, whose quick reflexes would be put to better use in a Pac-Man competition... :eyes:

3. G- Dubya is going to be there? |
|
Sheesh! I'm a big fan...go to a few races every year and even work in the stands at our track in Nashville. But then, I'm an SCCA member and like to dabble in amateur racing myself. I'm in an office pool and have Greg Biffle as my driver. Good thing he's starting on the pole and looked good in the 125. Junior is strong again, of course...but all my Roush drivers are looking like they may be real contenders this time.

roman coliseum last night and it struck me how bush was going to the race and sit in the front row just like the emperors of rome did during the games. but no one gives a shit if he`s there, everyone`s going to be watching their favorite driver...and i`ll be a happy guy if a dodge wins..

6. nascar ummmm......sucks. |
|
plain and simple.
what's the point of watching a bunch of cars go around in circles(or ovals, or whatevers) for a couple hours and never get anywhere?
it reminds me too much of when i used to commute to work.

He was the pole sitter but his qualifying engine went bad. They have to change engines which means he will have to move to the back of the field. This puts NASCARs poster boy on the pole tomorrow in the race his hero, the dim son will be attending. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but...
I will turn it on at the start of the race and if they put AWOL on I am likely to turn it off. I haven't been that much of a D500 fan since they put those stupid restrictor plates atop the carb.

12. Biffle's still on the pole |
|
When the polesitter has to change engines, the race starts with a notch in the front left corner of the field and the "polesitter" at the back. But he's still the polesitter; he lines up for the start of the race in his spot, takes at least one parade lap then drops to the back. If it was me, I'd modify the one-engine rule to allow teams to qualify on one engine, pull it and drop in a practice engine, do all their setups on the practice engine then put the engine used in qualifying back in the car for race day. Those engines aren't made to be run that much anyway.
But hey, Jeff Gordon has a provisional starting spot, so it's all good.

Now that I have your attention, the race will have a late start tomorrow, rained all day and into tomorrow am, then sunny. I'll be fishing during the race, wide open spaces.
PS vote democratic.
