Serenity, Peace, ..How do you find it for yourself... in this insane world??
Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 11:47 AM by Stuart G
I don't know..I listen to a lot of meditation music, and do deep breathing exercises sometimes. Any help or ideas that anyone could give would be helpful to me. I am too anxious during these difficult times.
,, I do not drink or take anti-anxiety meds...They cannot help me, I have had problems with both in the past..any other ideas?
..........thank you.....................:hi:

1. Vigorous exercise during the day....
and smoke a little weed before bed.

Do as much exercise as you can stand...it really helps.

2. Some things that work for me:
Listening to music, taking pics, talking with friends, drinking (yeah, I know),
watching a good movie, and many times...when things get crazy...
I try very hard to remember my favorite places (one of them is Kauai):

4. Philboy is right about the exercise.
I don't know your individual circumstances, but building walking, swimming, or some other form of exercise into your schedule is an excellent idea. It's a natural mood elevator and of course good for your body, and it's possible to incorporate some pleasure into the routine.

For example, I do like chatting with other people at the gym and/or watching something interesting on TV while I am on the treadmill. I also love walking outdoors in the spring, summer, and fall and enjoying the sights.

I'd also recommend:

*Scheduling things you'll look forward to, such as a movie night with a friend or similar.
*Norman Cousins was right; we do need to laugh. Use whatever works for you -- David Sedaris books, Buster Keaton movies, etc.
*Watch your exposure to news and/or political discussions. There are times when the human heart can only take so much. Take a break and do something pleasurable.
