You got the power steering parts in a $1 box of junk at a farm auction.
Actually, you got the hydraulic cylinder off an old stacker, the hoses in a $1 box of junk, and you have no idea where you got the pump.

You see a new hydraulic drill press in the tool store for 10,000 bucks, and you walk out snickering because you built one at least as good out of parts you got at auction sales.
You snicker more because it's considered the latest thing, and you built yours 3 years ago.
You go into a tool store, look at a new, expensive tool, and dream up ways to build it yourself.
