My neighbor called to tell me her dog ate her teeth.
She's on her way to Walmart to get some glue.

What should I do?

3. Only do that if the dog was a raccoon hound...
Fergit it if it was a pekingese or one of them other yappy dogs.

4. No, it's one of those patchy haired waddlers.
I guess I'll go over later and see if she needs any help gluing them back.

:hi:

5. Hope the "glue" she's getting is actual denture repair cement
If she uses superglue, it's toxic.
Any other glue, except for denture repair adhesive, will not hold when the teeth are back in her mouth.

The denture repair adhesive is only a temp fix until she can get to her dentist, which should be as soon as possible.

I didn't win the lottery...yet...will be out your way to visit when I do! :hi:

re: superglue...
Back in the early '80s, my "permanent" front tooth broke after a root canal (I was so young and naive back then). I used superglue, and within hours, I began to feel sick, and started hallucinating colors. Luckily, had friends around me, and we all agreed it was the superglue. I took out the broken half, cleaned it, and my boyfriend at the time went to the drugstore and got me some denture cement.
No more superglue in my mouth/body/brain (very toxic long-lasting fumes!), and the effects disappeared almost immediately.

7. Thanks for the info. I'd hate to see this spiral worse than it is.
I think I've seen SeaBond as a brand.

11. I think Seabond is just an everyday denture/gum adhesive

Will you be checking on the neighbor soon?

13. I'll drop in on her when she gets back from Walmart.
Thanks for the site. I printed it out for her, although she'll probably have broken her glasses by then.

12. Did it end up biting him in the ass?
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 11:24 AM by davsand
Just a question, but is she wanting to repair and use those AFTER they passed thru the dog?

I'm thinking I would probably want a new pair if it was me.

Laura

Can I just share a quick story here about dentures?

My aunt lost a fairly expensive piece of jewelry down the toilet one night (knocked it off the back of the stool in the night and flushed without realizing it.) My uncle called the sewage treatment plant and asked about the possibility of it turning up there. They said he could come out and check--that they kept a "lost and found" bin of stuff that had turned up. He said they had a lot of dentures to pick from if any were missing...

14. I think she was able to pry them out of his mouth before he swallowed them.
I can just imagine the growling and cursing that was going on.

On a more practical note, this town only has septic tanks so recovery is easier.
