1. Not 'fetch' exactly.
But he sure loved to bring us the critters he got.
Roaches, mice, squirrels.
And he came to a whistle.

2. I did have a few years back... local cat who found my family
would toss the small ball up the stairs, she would bring it to me and drop it in my hand to throw again. She was intense she would do this for relatively long periods of time for a cat (at least 15min).

This cat would also 'fake kill' our daughters' stuffed animals and make that proud of myself meew outside our bedroom door until we retrieved the present. She thought she had us fooled that this was a REAL animal she was gifting us.

We never bothered to embarass her with the truth.

Sadly, she disappeared (never to return) about two years back.

3. One of our kittehs fetches...
...but he is a Turkish Van, and they are known to have peculiarities like that. (He also likes the tub, water, and comes when called)

4. We had a cat that would fetch (actually a kitten)
He would play for a while and then just lay down and go to sleep. He would go flying up and down the hallway, bringing the toy back every time.

RIP, Ben.

5. You know we do - Morrissey is a HUGE fetcher
He loves paper wads and initiates fetching by bringing one to me and dropping it at my feet. I just have to say "paper!" and he comes running, ready to play. Sunny also fetches occasionally, but not as faithfully as Morrissey. They will also bring me "strings" (ties from my pajama pants) and want me to dangle them or even throw them so they can fetch. Monty isn't interested in any of this - getting older, I guess.

8. my other cat Sophie doesn't really fetch per se
But she will bring me the particular dangle toy that she wishes to play with and drop it on top of me. But fetching a ball like her sister? Definitely beneath her...

7. An indoor cat I once had would bring pens, watches, and other small items...
she would come running with something in her mouth, deposit it at our feet and howl like she was dying until we'd pet her.

It was the cutest thing ever.

9. My long-deceased cat used to LOVE to fetch
balled up pieces of paper were his favorite, and it was more fun if he had a staircase to run up and down.

He'd do it for hours. One time he escaped from my apartment and got out on the street in San Francisco. I went out after him and he started to run. I reached into my pocket, pulled out a dollar bill and crumpled it up. He stopped on a dime and came running back to me, waiting for me to throw it. I grabbed him and took him back. He was pissed.

10. Brianna: Feline Randy Moss
She doesn't exactly fetch, but she loves to catch crumpled up pieces of paper in mid-air. She will make these amazing leaps and grap things and come back down with it in her mouth. She drops it, maybe whacks it around a little, then waits for me to repeat the drill. I'm not sure who is playing with who when we do this!

14. I've had several that fetch....

One of my current four will fetch toys, paper wads, and so on. He also brings in a steady stream of flotsam from outdoors, usually sticks or bits of wood, and fruit fallen from trees. Like half a dozen a day when I'm home. He drops these treasures at my feet.

a grocery bag. I looked inside and sure enough there was the ball.

Endlessly, if I let him.

I've had two other fetching cats, one is still around, but they both seemed to outgrow the game.

21. I had one.
who used to fetch. She started doing it when I was down sick. I'd lay on the couch and toss her mouse and she'd bring it back for another toss.
