So I Did This Biore-Strip Thingy On My Nose...
OH. MY. GOD!! That's just frighteningly gross. I wash my face, every day... where did those things come from??

Has anyone else ever used something like that?

3. It's Like A Facial Masque Just For Your Nose Pores...
but it dries hard as plaster before you peel it off (unlike the rubbery/glycerine facial masques)

6. Oh damn, I know this of course.
My wife experimented on me with them. Nothing much happened. For some reason she won't leave my damn pores alone.

8. No, not at all.
That's what I don't understand about these strips. They did nothing for me, and their heat mask made my face break out! Go figure.

9. I Mostly Ignore It... Except For Keeping It Clean
I don't do moisturizer (yet)... but I'm considering it. No botox... but I'd consider it.

Keep in mind that my mother used to sell Vivian Woodard cosmetics and she's always reinforced the importance of good skin care... perhaps that's where I get it from.

12. well, yes, keeping it clean, of course
Vivian Woodward? Hmm... all I know about cosmetics is that they ruin skin, and my mother single-handedly kept Avon afloat during the late '60s.

19. God knows what we'll find in Grandma's house, Allen . . .
My mom's been dead nearly 30 years, but with what we've been finding in Grandma's house, I wouldn't be surprised to find my mother's wigs . . . hell, I wouldn't be surprised to find my mother's head. And this is my paternal grandmother. (See my latest Grandma thread.)

7. Have you ever gotten a facial?
They squeeze out all your blackheads.

Quite satisfying.

And I trust it's good for the squeezer. too.

24. Steaming your face
for a few minutes will get the same effect. I put my face in the steam, (my face over a sinkful of hot water and a towel to cover everything). Stand there for 5-10 minutes.

After that I get a waxy residue all over my face. Ewww. I wash with plain old glycerine soap.

And I'm mad at my sister in law. She gave me a bunch of YSL skin care samples and now I'm addicted to them!!! Ahh!

28. No... The Feeling Reminds Me Of Peeling Skin That's Been Sunburned
The dried strip is attached pretty firmly, so you don't want to yank it off. But ones you start the peeling process, it comes off cleanly.

It's not at all like pulling a waxing strip (unless you have a particularly HAIRY nose) :-)

35. I pulled one off too fast
I figured it would hurt less, like a bandaid. Took the top layer of skin off my nose with it, but my pores still weren't clean after that. Never used them after that.

32. I used to use them all the time
Then my dermotologist turned me on to the Peter Thomas Roth skin care line. They have a 10% glycolic acic gel that exfloliates so well that the next time I tried using a Biore strip, there was nothing to come off on it! I've had acne and horrible skin problems all my life and this is the first skin care line that actually makes my skin look good without drying it out or making it break out (and I'm almost 39 years old!).

Problem is, the damn gel is $50, and even though it lasts for a couple of months (so it really is cost effective) it's soooo hard to part with that kind of money for one bottle of skin care gel in my present financial state. However, I will never part with my PTR cleanser, NEVER!

33. I tried them and got nothing
but a hard, crackly thing that was pristine white - and not because I don't have any blackheads - when I finally got it off. I tried it three or four times, and yes I followed the instructions, and got the same result.

34. I have used them with the same results.
I have oily skin and I am 40 years old. They work best if you apply them after showering when your pores are really open. You should only use them once a week; otherwise, they will dry out your skin.
