College basketball: commercials interrupted by minutes of basketball |
|
At 5:30 (CDT) I looked at the clock on the Davidson game - 13:00 left. The game ended at @6:15. 13 minutes of basketball raced through in only 45 minutes. 40 minutes of basketball in only - what - 165 minutes? I have pretty much watching sports on TV because the long and frequent breaks make it sooooo boring. Oe of the most exciting teams I ever saw were the early UCLA teams of John Wooden's. They played full court, flat out basketball from the opening tip. Despite the fact that tere tallest player was 6'5" they were able to run the othe teams to death, usually blowing them out in the last 5 to 10 minutes. Couldn't happen these days. Gotta sell beer and bald cures and erection pills.

1. Free throws are conducted with the clock stopped |
|
and games often end in a fouling frenzy. But just because the clock is stopped doesn't necessarily that nothing is happening.
But I agree that the media breaks are too long.
