Hey music fans! Have any recommendations for new stuff? |

I need some new tunes. I can typically be found listening to music from the 60's, modern indie-pop, punk bands, jazz, old country a la Hank Williams, and 90's hip hop.

7. How about indie rock. What have you got there? |
|
So much of what I've been listening to recently is straight up rock and roll. Two guitars, drums, bass, vocals. It's time for some new sounds.
Hit me with your best shot.

whee! it's been too long since i've gone out and partied. gawd, the last time was like... 2 weeks ago! :wow: :scared:
but one of my friends got to go this spring break and see the reunited remaining members of X Japan in Tokyo. so happy and so envious at the same time. hopefully they'll be able to bring me back a tchotchke.
ps: i liked your cameo in Gas Huffer, Forkboy! (1:10)

8. Aesop Rock, "None Shall Pass"... |
|
...is real good. Might not be your cup of tea, i.e., mixture of rap, chill, lounge, etc...
But the lyrics are good, and it all comes together.

Cease To Begin is one of my favorite albums of the past few years. Indie Rock with some country leanings. Catchy, emotional, heartfelt.
If you didn't add that you liked some country I wouldn't recommend it. And it's by no means alt country along the lines of Uncle Tupelo or bands like that. But there's definitely a hair of a twang on 1 or 2 of the songs.
