Frozen Four!

Never mind the Final Four, it's time for the Frozen Four, the college hockey championship.

UNH self-immolated in the opening round, and neither Northeastern (my parent's alma mater) or UMass-Lowell (my brother's) made it anywhere near the tournament.

Guess I'll have to stay loyal to Hockey East and root for BC!

Weird Frozen Four moment: a few years ago, New Hampshire played Maine in the national championship game. UNH and Maine are fierce rivals, and the games always sell out months in advance, whether they are on campus or in Manchester or Portland. The title game was played in Anaheim, and the place was packed with UNH and UM alums. We take our college hockey very seriously here in New England!

Do the Northeasetern kids still do the "Inbred Rich Kids" chant at BU games? A friend of mine from NC heard that at his first college hockey game and was tempted to recycle it against Duke!

But whenever BU is short-handed, the cheer is "BC sucks!" and that's the cheer no matter who the opponent is.
