Boaters, is it possible to repair a personal flotation device? |
|
or is it just shot? It has a tear about 1 1/2 inches long. Can it be repaired or is the safety of the pdf too compromised to bother with it?

I would think it would be better to replace it.

2. It's actually a doggie pdf |
|
Made by Outward Hound. I took my dalmation/pointer mix to participate in the Splash Dogs competition this weekend and she got so excited she damn near ripped the d-ring off the vest. I'm going to get a more durable vest for her but we have a 12 year old cattle dog who loves water and doesn't pull at all. We thought if it can be repaired to where it's safe we would keep it. Otherwise we throw it out.

The whole purpose of putting it on her to begin with was to make sure she didn't drown. I figured that with a hole it would be compromised. The next one I get will be of a much sturdier material.
