1. "Cubs" Refers to the Major League Baseball team "Chicago Cubs"
2. "no roof-having" refers to the Cubs ballpark, Wrigley Field, which is the second oldest ball park in the league (built 1916) and has no roof over it.
c. "Broors" (presumably) is a nickname for the Major League Baseball team "Milwaukee Brewers"
