1. Mine was wonderful...
I spent it in Hawaii. And, on my 18th birthday (this was when drinking was legal at 18 in Hawaii) my mother ordered two Mai Tai drinks & she and I sat on the lanai and toasted to my birthday. It was great. :-)

5. Babysat my nephew
:eyes:

I had no money to go out so my sister took advantage of that and, instead of TAKING me out, left me with her kid while SHE went out. 18 was huge, too because the drinking age was 18 back then.

But my boyfriend gallantly hitchhiked over in a blizzard with a bottle of 151 rum so we sat around my sister's place and got drunk. :P

8. I don't remember what I did
it was so long ago and probably wasn't very exciting. My daughter turned 18 last May, and she went on the "I'm 18" circuit. She went to the adult video shop, and then the convenience store for cigarettes and a lottery ticket. She hasn't repeated any of it, but she does plan to take my son when he turns 18 next month.

If it was a school night, probably just pizza and a cake with my parents. If not, I probably got drunk with my friends.

Have a party?
What kind of gift would you wish for? Besides world peace and a sincerely adoring, loving beau? ;)

My son's 21st is coming up next Monday. He's has U. classes that day and the next, so he can't do anything big. But I'd like to surprise him with something extra, besides a cake, card, a meal, & a $50. But that should be enough, right?

Anywho, keep us posted so that DU can join in on your party. (We're so proud of you, btw.)

32. No idea. My eighteenth birthday was so long ago that I fear it is lost to the mists of time.
Perhaps some archeologist will find evidence of it and write a fascinating piece on the birth anniversary rituals of Eastern Iowans some day.

Were I you, I'd go with the trip. That way, you'll remember it...unlike me.

45. I got food poisoning.
Here's a tip: don't eat the curried shrimp at Michel's on Waikiki (if they're still there). I found out that there is a cool hospital in the Hyatt Regency on the beach there, though. My family took me to Hawaii and we rented this amazing condo there. I was sicker than hell, but other than that, good times.

'Love Me Do was released in Canada on February 4, 1963. Capitol Records of Canada President Paul White recalls how the Beatles first single released in North America came about: "I use to listen to about fifty new records a week....Then one day I put on "Love Me Do" by a group called the Beatles.'
