a story before I go to bed

I had a girlfriend that lived down the street, her and her hubby were so in love...
they couldn't have kids.... she adopted mine and my fur family.....
she had a fur baby to.....

we plugged along.... then one morning I was listening to my police radio and heard an ambulance call to her house for an unresponsive.......
it was her hubby.... she stayed at her moms that night in NY... she wasn't there... THANK YOU GOD... many days I picked her up from the floor of the "walk to" bar....

then she met Bill.... he loved her and she loved him.... OMG she got pregnant....
had Thomas on the day we had her shower..... things plugged along... then in 1992 my brother died and my daughter was at her house, I called and asked if Jess could stay
for a little while till my brother got picked up... she said sure we have a little drama here but my daughter was keeping her son busy.....


about a week after my brother died I got a call from Susan, she wanted me to bring her to the hospital to get some xrays you see.. she went in the hospital for pneumonia and they found cancer in her lungs.....


she had her son. another love and cancer

well yes Susan died.....
fuck


but the other night I had a dream about her
we were sitting at the table talking about my daughters wedding....
and what she would wear... and we giggled and laughed......
and drank her "milk" (pina coladas)
she was here when Jess was born


today I saw her husband for the first time in a long time....
and he said him and Thomas were doing ok....
I miss her and wonder what this dream is telling me....

or is she letting me know she and everything is ok????

just an observation....

and a chance to say I miss you Susan.....
the puppies never got to know you....
