The frickin' weatherman got me! |
|
I watched the local weather on T.V. today. I needed to know the forecast for Rockford, since I am going to an event there Saturday.
He posted his weekly forecast. It said 6-12 inches of snow for Saturday through Sunday. Not remembering it is April Fool's Day, I believed him.
Given the kind of winter we have had here, that is not much of a stretch as a forecast. He got me.

1. Even before I noticed the Cubs avatar I knew you had to be from Illinois |

Illinois weather: if you hate it, just wait a day, it'll change.

2. This has to be our year. |
|
One hundred years without a World Series? It is time.
I never used to believe in the curse. Even after being a Cubs fan since the early sixties, I always attributed our losses to other factors.
Then I saw the infamous Bartman play. Who ever could have conceived of such a thing?
All I can say is that curses grow old and lose their effectiveness. In the old stories, one hundred years is often the length of time before a curse is weakened or broken. It has to be our year.

3. Ha, I'm a Cards fan, so I can't help but hope for 100 years of futility |
|
But, you never know - this year would rather be poetic justice for Cubs fans. And honestly, the Cubs' curse is a lot lamer than the Curse of the Bambino, so you guys are bound to break it eventually. I have to admit I admire Cubs' fans ability to keep the faith! :D
