My Brother in law and his wife lost their dog Ava last night.

She and their other dog, Frank, dug their way out of the yard, and now she's no where to be found. Frank was still sitting by the fence waiting for them. My BIL keeps driving around, but someone either snagged her, or she is just gone. It's really sad too. She's a beautiful blond pit.

But she's been gone since last night. I'm so worried she's been used for target practice by some redneck asshole cop.
Thanks. The little black lab was actually a rescue. My BIL and SIL work at a hospital in my hometown. BIL does maintenance. He was out working on the landscaping when a farm truck drove by and just dumped that cute little baby at the hospital. He took him home, not sure if Ava would welcome another animal. She was bred by people who fought dogs, so wasn't sure if she would be animal friendly. Well, they soon became best friends. She wore that little puppy out just playing all the time. He was dubbed Frank Zappa and has been a staple ever since.
Oh I hope she makes it home. :cry: I remember when she was a puppy and she'd cry for attention from someone. I'd get home, and take her into my bedroom and play with her until everyone else got home a couple hours later. She was my buddy. This is so sad.

8. Be sure that all shelters in the area are called.

Dunno what it's like in that area. But "brownish pitbull" isn't going to stand out in any shelter worker's mind. Call every day. Wear them out. Make it so if a "brownish pitbull" comes in, someone's mind triggers with a "hmmmm...isn't there someone calling on one of these?"

Funnily enough, she is named for Ava Braun, Hitler's Girlfriend. My BIL has a sick sense of humor. A big heart, but a sick, silly sense of humor.
