Relationships aside - what interests you so much that you actually look forward to getting up each day and getting right to it? I am very fortunate. I have two things I have a passion for.
The first is my job. I get to mentor different people, work on system development, manage day to day production and resolve escalated customer service issues. I find my work extremely exciting and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be managing a fast growing area.
The second is fresh water fishing. I stumbled on it as a hobby a few years ago. My daughter and I had no clue as to what we were doing and were lucky to get one 3" sunfish on our first outing. Since then my wife, daughter, and I have learned a lot about it and have become very good at it. We will be out fishing every single week night and the entire weekend beginning this coming Saturday. We read about it, study, watch fishing shows during the winter and then we do it as soon as the ice is gone until the ice reforms.
I love my job and I am excited about my hobby.
Those are my two passions. What are yours?

It doesn't matter what I read or learn. As long as I do both things, I'm happy.

- Writing. I have a kickass freelance job that I'm really loving right now.
- DU. No shit, I'm addicted to this place.
- Finding magic in the day. There's lots to be found all over the place.

I loved being a development professional, it is the perfect combination of my skills and my favorite challenges. I get to do something all day (ask people for money) which most people cannot do comfortably. I know my efforts I make a difference. Now if I could find somebody to pay me to do it. (again)

11. My passion: every day, to make life better for everyone I can. |
|
In my profession (real estate, title) I do all I can to save families from losing their homes to foreclosure, changing the mindset of my industry.
In my home, I run an animal rescue. Frankly, I steal dogs, removing them from abusive situations. Rehab them, then rehome them. I testify when I need to. It rarely comes to that. Unfortunately.
My hobby? I lift weights. A lot. As a certified trainer and sports nutritionist, I've got some advantage, and I like to share that with others for free. There is no greater feeling in the gym than watching someone that takes your advice make a big, healthy change in their life.

I keep a box around and pick up things here and there (sometimes with donations from others) until it is filled, then mail it to a soldier. Right now I'm filling a box with "high-bouncing balls" - the small kind that fit in your palm - which are incredibly popular with the kids and easy for the troops to carry with them.

Playing music, listening to music, singing music, painting, looking at art...... reading, cooking, sewing.
Music has been my lifelong obsession since the age of five. Fortunately, I have talent!!!!
Life would be hell if I loved music and DID NOT have talent!!

I've had to back off a bit because of some temporary personal priorities, but it's my love. I get a great deal of satisfaction helping those guys get what they should have been getting in the first place.
We're still nowhere near the ultimate goal (100% medical/prescription coverage), but we're better off than we were.
I also read alot of 9/11-related stuff.

1) Helping people out as much as I am able. Trying to make positive differences in other's lives by using whatever talent I have that may be useful to them.
2) Transporting rescued dogs.
3) Building stuff. Doing home improvement. Taking on projects where I have no idea what I am doing...reading up on the proper way of doing something, learning it, then doing it.
4) Aerobic exercise.

It's pretty much a sickness.
I proofread menus at restaurants, I swear far too much but freak out if my kids use bad grammar, and my husband's form of ultimate torture infliction involves using non-words like "irregardless" in our conversations.
When I was at the store this morning, I noted a sign hanging above the toy department that indicated which aisle housed the "puzzle's".

Also reading, Science Fiction and History mostly.
You're lucky to have a job that you have passion about. I have absolutely none about mine.

I have played guitar since age 9, I'm 44 now and am as passionate about it now as I have ever been. I haven't played for a living since the mid 90s, but am out gigging somewhere most every weekend. I really enjoy recording and producing CD projects a lot too.
My other passion is motorcycles. I started riding on a Honda 50 about the same time I picked up the guitar and have owned and ridden motorcycles ever since.
