1. Overall. Luckily, in my job me and my co-workers aren't around each other very much.

But some co-workers I've had in the past are a real pain.

3. I should start a serial on DU about my co-cube mate
I've never been in cube world until this job and I am going to start angling for an office real soon

She is an emotional wreck and I have to sit (actually we all do she seems to have no idea how loud she tawks (new yorker) ) and listen to the most inane pointless and easily resolved conversations in the history of known time EVERY DAY.

The strangest part is that after 20 minutes of nonstop gabbing there is silence and then she just hangs up the phone. I think she gets hung up on but I am not sure because her communication skills are just that bad.

However, I work for myself....

Actually, that's not really true, I work with people all over the world, but we never see each other.

18. Some yes, others, not so much.
There are a couple for whom I would walk through hell in the proverbial gasoline suit for.

Others, I want to see gone because they do absolutely jack-shit in a high-paced, stressful work environment where team players are an absolute necessity.

19. For the most part - yes.
In fact all who are in my 'department' are good to work with in at least one sense - unfortunately one has just resigned as she was given a very good offer elsewhere. :(

There are others around who are down-right infuriating, however, but I can bitch about them with those closer to me.

20. No. Most of my co-workers did not get raises for 7 years and then
they got a 2% raise each.

Not a happy bunch.

Plus the job sucks.

24. You must work where I do!
Yippy! I worked in one department and received ONE raise in the five years at that job. I transferred & started getting 2% raises then I transferred to another job which has so far been giving me 2.5% raises.

I don't care anymore, I am looking at self employment within the next two years doing something I enjoy. I may end up impoverished but I will be happy/broke!

29. I'll be in this job a year at the end of June. I have never worked
at a job that didn't provide annual raises. I am expecting one in June...we shall see.

Do you work for a small company? I think they can sometimes get away with no raises.

33. No, it is a large multi-national company.
If I mentioned the name you would know it & have an opinion on their product. You have used the product in your lifetime one way or another.

If they can keep turnover low while not increasing wages it makes sense. We have some good benefits including a 401k, a pension plan, health benefits. They know that most people will stay in a bad job with no hope for the benefits. I am really hoping for health care insurance reform because it may set some people free from a crap job.

21. Usually.
I figured out a while back that I spend more time with them than I do with my own family & friends. It was easier to like them than to put all that energy into hating them. There's a couple that I could do without, but I'm sure they feel the same about me.

23. I'm lucky...
I actually like three of them, and easily tolerate the majority of the rest.

(Odd thing though-- the three I actually like are half my age and the two I actively dislike are within five years of me either way... I usually don't like/trust people in their twenties...)

30. I like all except for 3
1 is the lady in the cube next to me...stinky too much perfume lady.
1 is a sales guy that is constantly "touching" like my shoulder but annoying. Oh and he lies a lot, "I used to own this fancy restaurant" blah blah blah
The last one is also a sales guy that's condescending and rude.

31. I like almost everybody I work with on a daily basis.
Everybody has a decent sense of humor, and they're fun to talk to. We joke around some, and yet we still manage to get the job done, despite the fact that our store is currently understaffed because of hour cuts.

As for the corporate people who roll into the store every couple of weeks or so... Yikes. I wouldn't want to have to spend every day with THEM, that's for sure! Bunch of uninteresting, hard-assed stiffs, if you ask me...

34. I like my 6 managers, and 30 of my employees, but 6 others can go to hell...
just as they tried to get me fired, reprimanded, removed, and in general everything they could to break me down. After 10 months I'm still there, 2 of the 6 have quit, one has a resignation pending. Good riddance.

The word is "nosy". You can't hold your lunch in peace without someone asking "what are you eating?"
Will knowing my food choice change their lives in some way?

In our school district, the teachers are a fairly close-knit group. I don't really know a lot of the younger teachers, but they seem nice enough. The ones I didn't care for have all retired, thankfully!

38. For the most part but there's this one that I recently had to cut off.
I started working with this person two years ago. This individual is supposedly stuck in a bad marriage - the 3rd bad marriage - and has been with the latest spouse for the past 13+ years. Within the past two years, this person has found the need to incessantly whine about the marriage and has not made one move to change things for the better. Any suggestion of going to a lawyer to just outright leaving is dismissed with one excuse after another. They don't have the money for a lawyer, they're paying all the bills while the deadbeat spouse sits at home playing with his horse or grandchildren. Yada yada yada, on and on and on. Then there's the sob stories about the long commute that has to be endure to get to work. Then move closer. No, that costs too much! Blaa blaa blaa blaa. Every project that this person is involved with, no matter how simple, turns into an ordeal. A drama queen of the highest order. Finally, I just had it and snapped, I've come to the conclusion that this person enjoys misery and the attention that comes with it. I can't take it anymore, so I've cut this person out of my life, I haven't spoken to them for 3 weeks now.
