DSM IV. Don't you think?

Anybody nowadays who is a workaholic needs....help. Unless s/he is working for her/himself.

1. I am not sure it is a disorder....
If working about 75-80 hours a week with one full time and two part time jobs makes one a workaholic then I am one.

What kind of help should I get?

2. Do you work so many hours because you want to or because you have to?
And then again, if you work so many hours because you want to, maybe you are a workaholic, but you should only be worried if it was causing harm in the rest of your life.

3. Want to...
the money from my second jobs is sitting in a bank.

I think I got used to working so much when I was a single mother and it was a had to situation.

Now my kids are all grown and gone and I have moved out in the country with very little to do without driving quite a distance, unless I want to hang out at honky tonks, which I dont. I havent been in a bar in ten years or more. And I have decided I no longer am interested in dating or relationships.

So, I dont think it is causing any harm. And I like to stay busy. I do still have time for my hobbies.

4. Well, as long as you're not doing it for your employers' benefit, I guess that's not harmful.

In this day and time, anybody who works mucho hours for the employer's benefits, or because they're a "company person," or out of some loyalty to the employer...

5. Yep, the divorce courts are full of them.
So are the bankruptcy courts. It is hard to run a profitable business when no one can stand to be around the manager.
