A really good day for me, finally. |
|
Got my nerve up to buy a new tractor. My department actually made a few thousand dollars in spite of our lowest patient census for March in 20 years. I just met with 3 guys who are willing to take out about 70 cedars off the farm at no charge (they work, they get the logs). They had a chocolate lab pup named Beau and I'm a lab lover. The body shop finished fixing the Honda 2 days early. Dinner was good, wine is good too.
After countless (actually about 10 months) of nothing good happening, a ray of sun.
:woohoo:

3. Great news, triguy! Glad you had a good day? |

Where--and what--do you farm? Must be a beautiful place to have 70 cedars!

4. Unfortunately, Eastern red cedars are an invasive pest here in OK... |

We mess around with little stuff, its a farmette really. We've had horses, chickens, big gardens, at one time 70 lavender plants. Whatever suits us at the time.
As far as cedars go, I've removed all the small ones over the years. These are 35 to 70 years old, very, very large. This will be the final step in pasture clearing for us after 28 years. I've gotten too old for the big heavy work. These guys mill it, make furniture, planks, etc. A good use, and opens up our pasture.
