How many of you are talking to your boss while you post. |
|
:P
Blackberries are horrible, horrible devices. As if overtime wasn't enough, now we can have sudden discussions when stuff just comes up in our West Coast offices.
Fortunately it's nothing too serious. But Damn! What did people do before blackberries?

2. You joke because you haven't received over 100 |
|
work related emails yet this evening. :P
Most of them are automated alerts though, telling me the same thing over and over and over again.

3. Yes, there's a reason I don't have anything like a cel phone or a blackberry. |
|
Well, I can't afford them, so that makes two reasons. :P

before all this technology we...
-had the phone and if you weren't home, there weren't messages waiting for you (no machines) -if you were on the phone, you didn't get interrupted (no call waiting) -no email (just letters) -messages at work were taken by a human being who deflected a lot of calls that now end up in your voicemail, and if they didn't do -that, you got a handwritten message which you responded to when you had time (which you had more of because... -everything took longer to do, stuff got typed, ordered, mailed and took days for responses, etc. -at home (without microwaves) food took a while to prepare so meals were eaten together (even tv dinners took an hour in the oven) -people watched tv together because we only had 1 set and there was typically only 1 good thing on at any one time on the limited channels anyway -you enjoyed radio stations and the serendipitous feeling of having someone else choose your songs (no ipods or mp3 players) -you spent time outside during summer nights because either you didn't have air conditioning or it was too expensive to run it (and besides summer tv was all reruns anyway so just hang out on the porch with your neighbors while you keep an eye on each other's kids)
I could go on and on...but do you remember? I do and I was just a kid back then.

8. Is "talking to my boss" some new euphimism for looking at "teh Pr0n" in another window? |
|
If so, then maybe I am.

17. Dude, we just spent all that $$$ for your new Zoomie-chair... |
|
Have you considered just running him down in a narrow corridor?
Seriously, if that thing doesn't have enough horsepower to crush a punk-ass little Suit-Weenie like that guy, DU should start thinking about asking for a refund!
(Fantasy scenarios aside, in real life I can only offer you a )

15. I'm my own boss and frequently carry on conversations with myself so.... |
|
I guess you can count me in.
My husband is having a battle with his office over blackberries. His boss's boss wants him to have one, but his boss doesn't want the expense out of his budget. I don't get it. I would think the boss' boss wins in a case like this. What the hell do I know?

I was bored before technology allowed me to be in a constant state of productive distraction. And I read 2 books a day instead of one.
