1. Wow!
That's as desperate as I was after I had surgery two years ago. I thought I was going crazy for lack of good sleep.

Good luck!

Never met a guy who wasn't snoring 5 minutes later!

6. It's the endorphins
endorphins are released by the pituitary and hypothalamus glands during an orgasm - when they hit the opiate receptors, it's equivalent to a small dose of a narcotic - and make you sleepy

8. I know!
My first thought was, "I hope you wake up." ;)

Maybe next time try 20 drops tincture of valerian, 20 drops kava kava in a strong batch of chamomile tea. The kava kava will give you epic-length dreams

According to the herbal medicine book The New Holistic Herbal, the most effective sleep inducers are California Poppy, Hops, Jamaican Dogwood, Passion Flower and Valerian.

Oh, an interesting fact about Valerian: it's like catnip-zilla to cats and perfectly safe to give them. Just put a drop or two of tincture in a saucer with some cooled tea. If the saucer is breakable, put it on the carpet since it will get tipped over as your cat goes wilder that Gene!

25. And too much will actually inhibit sleep, so 10 mg might be a problem

9. the doc stopped prescribing sleeping pills.
Now i'm getting stuff that is supposed to make you sleepy but is not marketed as such. The clue besides the insert, is that i'm supposed to take one three times a day instead of at bedtime.

I'm baffled.

10. You need GABA
I take 750ml of GABA each night.

Helps shut down the 'busy brain' that tends to keep me up at night - safe as heck to use too

12. Did you mean 750mg?
750ml is over 3 cups. If I drank 3 cups of anything before going to bed I don't think I'd be sleeping well due to all the bathroom trips.

21. From LynneSin's link.
http://www.biopsychiatry.com/gaba.htm : GABA is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter of the CNS. It is well established that activation of GABA(A) receptors favors sleep. Three generations of hypnotics are based on these GABA(A) receptor-mediated inhibitory processes.

Just a warning to any manic-depressives, GABA will send you right into a depressive state.

Also, if you do take GABA or any amino acid, take it an hour before or an hour after any food containing protein, amino acids compete for absorption.

11. Holy Shit
you must have a high tolerance. One cup of tension tamer puts me out like a light. I find it more effective than their sleepytime tea.

Have you tried Acupuncture and Chinese medicine? They can cure chronic insomnia.

15. So how did it go? Interestingly, Valerian makes me hyper...all the rest of your
natural pharma works well for me. I especially loooove my melatonin, but only take 3 mg!

But i really hope you got a good night's sleep!
