Battlestar Galactica, ep1 season 4 (SPOILERS) |
|
This discussion is full of spoilers.
First of all, the cliffhanger was lame. We all know damn well that president Roslin won't die in episode 2 of the last season, so why did they even bother? Seriously. Do they think we're stupid?
Mostly though, I'm upset about what didn't happen. Other than Baltar's new kooky religion, did anything actually happen tonight? Kara doesn't know any more than anyone else why she survived the explosion, and our new cylons don't know anything new about themselves yet (other than that they are cylons).

1. I think they set a lot of groundwork |

the powers-that-be behind the show have kind of hinted that Roslin does not survive the year...so, her possibly dying is not a surprise. However, I got the impression that she is going in there to threaten Roslin more than kill her.
the red light going off in Sam's eye confirmed that he is a cylon, and it obviously set up a major role for all four - Sam, Tigh, Tyrol and the president's assistant. It seemed pretty clear when the cylon picked up his signal, the whole attack was called off.
Plus, they had the whole "going in the wrong direction" thing.
