Something just occured to me. I have a massive inferiority complex.
For example, this local band was looking for extras for their new music video, and created a facebook event for the video shoot. I thought of going, but when I looked at the confirmed guest list (It was full of "cool kids" - hipsters and scene kids, mostly), I decided I wasn't cool enough for it.

What the hell is my problem?

1. Based on threads you've posted in the past
I think you believe all the crap your family tells you/treats you. I think even though it ticks you off, at some level you believe the names your mother calls you. I don't believe for a minute any of that is true, the problem is that you do.
I really hope you and your family can get some therapy. I was lucky that my mother did a lot of reinforcement on our self confidence so FINALLY after years of struggling with some of my own issues I am comfortable with who and what I am.
You are young yet and adolescence is the most stressful time in one's life for the most part anyway.

2. ...

Did I tell you I'm moving in with my dad in late April/early May? And I just saw my new apartment...it's really nice.

But yeah, my family will probably need some therapy.

4. First and foremost, your problem is your age.
The teen years are hell on self-image.
Oh yeah and you are pretty cool.

5. From the posts of yours that I've read,
you are obviously an intelligent and sensitive young woman. And I understand that your home life is not great, to say the least. I suspect that some day, as you grow up into a sensitive and intelligent adult, you'll realize that it was you and not the so-called "cool kids" that was genuinely "cool", because of that very intelligence and sensitivity that caused you to doubt yourself in the first place ( that kind of introspection that leads to self-doubt is strongest in really bright, sensitive people). Hang in there, get whatever outside help you need ( counseling or whatever), and somehow try to never forget to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. I know, easy for me to say,but since I've struggled with the same issues for much of my life, ( and I'm MUCH older than you), finding that inner strength ( somehow, and in my case couldn't have done it without outside help) CAN be done. Not easy, but I have faith in you. The "misfits" as kids usually end up as the coolest adults. I wonder how many people whose music or art you admire would also say they were not one of the "cool kids" as teens. Many if not most I bet. Hang in there, AspieGrrl, your self-doubt, painful as it can be, is actually a product of some of your best qualities.

6. We've all been there once or twice.
Even the hipsters and scene kids.

Just live your life, don't let things like that bog you down. And if you need to, feel free to vent to us. :)

7. hey .. I think
you're pretty cool. You're one of the coolest kids I've 'met' online. Smart, funny and pretty too.

I think your environment might be your 'problem'. Once you move and start to see yourself in a different light you'll feel better. That and age will change you a bit.
