1. I did two and a half of those things as a kid.
Play with fire? Check. Owned a pocketknife? Had a few. I didn't throw a spear, but I did make numerous bows out of some springy trees near my house, and even more arrows out of a bush behind our house that had these nice perfectly straight slender branches.

Never drove or deconstructed appliances, but being a computer geek, instead I deconstructed BASIC, PASCAL and HTML code. :P

5. I pretty much covered the list
I remember cutting myself with my folding knife once when it closed on me. Live and learn I guess. I also once buried a staple in my thumb while messing around with it.

We didn't have spears but I threw all kinds of missiles from rocks to lawn darts.

2. Certainly One Through Four Are Spot On, Sir
All were a part of my youth, anyway, along with a good deal of axe-work on an old wood-pile, and getting out the attic window to the roof and then down via the near-by buckeye tree....

It has always been my practice to tell my children and grandchildren that if they do not sport scrapes and bruises, they are not doing their jobs properly.

3. My parents didn't necessarily "let" me do those sorts of things.
Summer time especially, my friends and I would just be out all day. And yes, we did all sorts of things.

6. I totally agree with the dude
I did all that stuff as a kid, and so did any kid that was around when I was raising mine. They thank you when they grow up too.

:applause:
