Kids from the sixties

Did you ever use to find weird stuff on the street? There was a time that I would find these metal bits I guess from cars. They were about a quarter of inch wide by anywhere from 5 to 10 inches long. I don't see them anymore. Any idea what they could have been from?

1. Shivs? I used to find those empty little wax bottles of sweet syrup all the time.

Course, I liked 'em too.

2. We used to find real marbles.... not the cheap glass ones.

You could find them along the edge of the road sometimes. I guess it's where the kids used to play marbles long ago.

4. I don't remember that but I do remember mosquito fog trucks

they'd come around at dawn and dusk and fog the streets with god only knows what sort of pesticide and I used to love running around in the fog and pretend I was in a cloud. I'm sure this explains A LOT of my current brain damage and respiratory difficulties.

I'm just teasing in case it's not obvious. You know what's really curious? I don't remember the last time I got a mosquito bite and I live in WI where they're considered the state bird. The evil scientist part of my damaged brain thinks that I must have absorbed enough mosquito fog to make my blood poison to them, mwaaahahahahah!

8. Well, I didn't absorb enough

I spent time at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and there isn't enough toxic gas in the combined American and Russian arsenals to kill of those mosquitoes.

They would strike and rub against the curb before the tires and rims it it.

The sound was very distinctive.
