Thoughts On Battlestar Galactica
The Cylons are out to convert the human race to their monotheistic religion and they using Baltar function as their Paul/John The Baptist

Although Starbuck and Roslin are apparently at odds, they are the best hope from keeping the rest of the human race from being converted and thus fall under the Cylon hegemony.

The Twelfth Cylon is the mastermind behind the plan.

1. I think they set up a lot of things last night
I wasn't sure that at the end of the last season that all four of them - Tigh, etc - were cylons. I thought maybe it was some psychological thing that was going on with them. However, the incident with Anders in the viper and the cylon raider then turning around obviously changed my mind.

And, this is just wild speculation on my part...

spoiler text - swipe the gray box:

Starbuck mentioned going to earth and seeing the clouds and the moon, but did not mention seeing any signs of life or anything man-made. My guess is that that the colonial humans that land (eventually) that are the first humans on earth.Possibly the cylons land later and introduce monotheism

2. If your guess is true, one has to wonder about what happened to the 13th Tribe
The mystery of Starbuck's return may answer that

5. The same can be postulated about Astrology
AS the human race have combined the two.

The Cylons are out make the human race see the error of their ways

12. Re: Your spoiler ...

Rumor has it that the Earth they find is a post-apocalyptic 22nd Century Earth. Take that for what it's worth as rumor, but some of the show's episode descriptions (up through episode 10 is viewable if you know how to manipulate the SciFi.com URLs to get to that sort of thing) this seems to make sense.

There's also going to be a Cylon civil war, and Starbuck is going to play a part in it. Count on it.

3. It was an interesting episode, that's for sure.
It certainly didn't resolve anything, but it set in motion a lot of events that are going to be very important.

My theory for the last year as been that the Six Baltar sees in his mind is, in fact, God. God is reaching through Baltar to work to convert the surviving humans to a monotheistic religion. Likewise, the Baltar that Caprica Six saw in her head in the episode "Downloaded" is probably a similar form God is taking to work through this conversion.

There has to be some sort of technological presence on Earth, seeing as Starbuck's viper came back brand new - not a single scratch or dent and no navigational information to give a clue as to where the ship had been.

If you saw the movie "Razor" back in November, you'll remember that the first Cylon Hybrid aboard the old basestar said that Kara Thrace would lead humanity to their doom. This either means that she will lead them in the wrong way and into the hands of the Cylons, or she WILL lead them to Earth, they will find the thirteenth colony, and the Cylons will destroy them all.

The raider that scanned Anders is another thing to worry about. I don't know if the raider was simply scanning to see if Anders was a Cylon, or if the raider knew and he was implanting a secret mission into Anders' brain that will cause him to carry out a mission for the Cylons at some later date.

Should be a very, very interesting season ahead of us...

9. just thought of this
but, it could be a cylon setup - remember what Leoban told her before. Can he really see the future about Kara leading the human race to earth, or was he setting her up for what happened.

Or, how about this? The Cylons discovered earth in the 40 years between the wars and that is where they found monotheism?

10. The Cylons don't know where Earth is either
And Leoben is a proven liar, so I don't give credence to everything he's uttered.

7. Got your tin foil viper helmets on?
I wonder if Kara found her way into a transport system of some kind that took her to Earth, where the 13th tribe found her, reproduced her viper, and sent her back with photos? Did they give her this 'feeling' of knowing where Earth is to lead them to it, or away from it to protect themselves?

...or is she simply a Cylon and they made the whole thing up? I hope not.

8. maybe her viper
got into some sort of time warp where it reverted to its original state - sort of like the Genesis project from Star Trek 2... only that was only for organic life.
