I accidentally renamed 20,000 files on my hard drive
to FILE00001, FILE00002, FILE00003, etc. Boy, do I feel like an idiot. Beware of power tools such as Total Commander:

Fortunately, there's an undo fucntion.

1. Play with fire, get burned.

4. Backup, what's that?
No, I do copy sensitive files to a thumb drive, but I don't trust so-called seamless backups as I got burned once. If/when my drive crashes, I am faced with a complete program and OS reinstall. But at least I know my data is safe.

Funny thing when I was typing my first post. My spelling is so bad I use google as a spell checker (faster than bringing up a dictionary). So I googled 'accidentally' and got:
