1. I love Johnny......
One of the great blues guitarists ever. Seen him many times over the years.

Loved Edgar too, I actually met one of my best friends over the "They Only Come Out At night" Album. I went over to his house with some friends and was looking through his albums ( I always do this) and saw that one. I said "wow, I love Johnny but never heard Edgar" so he played it. At the same time 125 Kilos of Acapulco Gold were delivered to his roomate and we all "tested" it. By the time the album got to "Frankenstein" me and Larry were friends for life and I was totally destroyed.....

20. For me it was White Trash.
I guy I lived with had an older brother that showed up one night with a couple garbage bags of ditchweed and a few tapes. One of those tapes was White Trash, and I fell in love with that album.

Johnnie Winter earned my love and respect with his work with Muddy Waters. Literally. some of the recordings they did together are some of the best Blues I have ever heard.

2. IMO Johnny did THE best version of Tobacco Road EVAH.
Second place goes to The Animals, and third to Lou Rawls.

11. Johnny and Stevie
Two of the best from Texas. Saw them both play many times at the Armadillo-along with many other great blues players.

26. Actually he came in with his band to see another band perform.
And yeah, he is wicked pale. But every guy in his band, including him, was well over 6'2".

12. I list Johnny Winter as one of my favorite guitarists of all time, everytime there is a poll.
The other is Rory Gallagher. I have loved Johnny since the late 70s when he put out White Hot and Blue and Nothin' But The Blues. I am happy to see that they are for sale on Amazon together and I will be buying them later today. Nothin' But the Blues has an all-star line up including Muddy Waters on guitar, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith on drums, Pinetop Perkins on piano and James Cotton on harp. It's a great blues album. Here is a great performance of Highway 61 by Johnny at a party for Bob Dylan. I have posted it here several times. It's one of my favorite videos from You Tube. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8siLZ4zNbY

the song at the end of the long note Edgar holds for fucking ever and then play it again.

He said he wasn't a singer too.

I disagree Edgar.

35. I've got lots of love for Johnny Winter- you just never asked me before now.
And I've never brought it up on my own, because he's
kinda so good that he's SCARY.

Not "scary" like I'm afraid of him; "scary" in the sense
that I sometimes worry I only IMAGINED him, and I'm afraid
to ask others about him for fear that he was just a dream.

Nuff said.

His best album, imho, the only 3 sided record album that I know of. No more, no less than the best.
