I like Christopher Walken, but he sucked last night on SNL |
|
It looked to me like he hadn't rehearsed any of the skits, and was just reading off the cue-cards all night long.
He was definitely not on his game. Even the closing segment, where he basically said "OK, good bye".

I turned it off after the first 30 minutes. Couldn't watch any more. x(

4. He was brazen about it! He got laughs, though, so I guess he won't learn the next time, either. |

I would be hard-pressed to pick out a particular guest host's contribution to the general, overall, constant suckage.
People who watch SNL every week are among the biggest masochists on the planet, second only to liberals who listen to Rush Limbaugh.

7. I thought he was pretty good last night, actually. |
|
Come on though, he ALWAYS reads from the cue cards when he's on SNL, and it's ALWAYS painfully obvious that he's doing it. He's like that every single time he hosts the show, so that's nothing new. If anything, it's part of his charm as a host on SNL. He doesn't bother to learn the lines during the week, but he doesn't need to because he reads and delivers them so well when it's time for the show.
I agree he wasn't at the top of his game, but he still made me laugh.

10. And the Walken family reunion was a blast, too, with a great "pun"ch line for once. Wwwowww... |
|
The sketch about the gardener who's afraid of plants until he puts googly eyes on them was funny as well, but when it was over, my immediate thought was, "That was about 30 seconds too long." I'm wondering whether he'll be taken seriously in a dramatic part anymore, after doing all this comedy that at times verges onto self-parody.
For a change, I really liked the guest band as well.

He is always like that! Loved the googly eyes and the family reunion. What is not to love - he is weird AND he is silly!!
