Movies you want to see made
The Left Hand of Darkness - I always envisioned James Earl Jones as the lead, but now I'd go for Will Smith

How about a re-make of Gone With the Wind - by Spike Lee?

1. "In This House of Brede" by Rumer Godden. Demi Moore named
one of her daughters after the author, and I've always hoped she might make a movie of it.
She's a great actress, and the right age to play the lead...but I guess I never envisioned her in that role; I'd love to see her play Dame Veronica though...it would be such a different part for her.
For the lead...I think I'd like to see Cate Blanchett do it. She'd be stellar.

11. There was a film of this made some years ago - I think for television.
As I recall, it kept pretty close to the stroy except for some changes made to match a lower budget - the child is hit by a car when the nanny is busy rather than caught in a mine shaft.

24. I found it at Amazon:
Product Description
British film star Diana Rigg gives a moving performance as a sophisticated London business- woman who, after suffering a personal family tragedy, leaves the world and becomes a Benedictine nun at Brede Abbey. Beautiful scenes of religious life in a monastery.

25. I was just reading a review of this, and the character I thought Demi
Moore should play is TOTALLY left out of the story altogether in the movie!
I'll still have to check it out at some point :hi:

And maybe Ralph Fiennes as Crowley?

Frankly, that would be great fun to hypothetically cast. Been toying with it in my head for years.

6. It's my own story called "Doomsday Babies"
It's the story of four young women who get pregnant after having one night stands on the very night the world is supposed to end. The world is saved, and they each have to deal with the prospect of becoming single mothers.

It'll have happy endings for all.

Hate Ellison. Way too dark for me.

Harrison has a wry, cynical sense of humor that just cracks me up.

15. OH wow! Excellent choice! For those of you unfamiliar with the book,
The Left Hand of Darkness describes the work of the first Representative from Earth to the people of the planet Winter. Most of the time, the people of that planet are asexual, developing female or male organs only when they more or less come into heat. The earthman, Genly Ai, has a lot of problems trying to work in a society in which most people are neither female nor male most of the time. Since he is always male with male organs, some view him as a pervert!

Tilda Swinton

Supposedly it's in the works now. I'd rather it were a miniseries, because it's a great big juicy book, but I'll take what I can get.

I'd also love to see Kotzwinkle's Doctor Rat made into a feature.

I thought this story, which is told POV of the person who commits the murder could be an interesting movie which perhaps some liberties on the backplot as to why Montresor felt he had to kill Fortunato

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cask_of_Amontillado

And the theme song could be "The Cask of Amontillado" by the Alan Parsons Project - it's a beautiful song.
