Working Assets Mobile, anyone using their service?
I'm thinking of signing up with them. The phone I'm looking at is the Sanyo Katana II. If anyone has any experience with either working assets mobile service or the Katana phone I'd love to get some feed back before I sign up.

Thanks. :)

2. I use them for my long distance carrier but not for wireless
Long distance is now called Credo. I realize that's no help to you, but your post looked so lonely with no responses.

3. We looked at it but
it was a bit to pricey for our budget.

4. I'm interested in their org
I asked my credit card co. to lower my limit (which they tried to convince me not to do... my limit was so obscene it made no sense, tho) because I want to get a working assets card instead. still haven't done it tho. then I started looking at cards (they keep sending me apps, actually) to earn airline miles - I was gonna just have everything automatically paid for ... utilities, etc. to that acct to earn lots of points and then pay one bill.

the frequent flyer miles is a big draw, to me, cause I love to travel and want to visit some friends.

what do you like or not like about their phone service? I'd like to find a cheaper service than the one I have now. my kids have cell phones, but don't use them much. however, if they didn't have them, my life would be just about impossible. so I need a service with mulitiple lines that has a cheap basic rate. too bad I can't let my rollover minutes count as cash payment.

5. I like that they donate a portion of their profits to various causes
and you get to help choose where the money goes.

I can't really say how they compare cost-wise to other carriers as I haven't comparison shopped as of yet. I've used Working Assets for years for my long distance service so when I started to think about finally getting a cell phone they were an obvious first choice for me. I don't make a lot of calls so my phone bill is pretty minimal. As a result hunting for the absolute lowest rate is less important to me than having the pleasure of not dealing with a company like Verizon.

7. Yes (FYI: it's called Credo now)
Haven't had any issues with the coverage. The billing system wasn't very flexible until recently but it's been improved. I have had only one service issue and that was at the point of activation -- I was given incorrect information about the process and ended up 2000 miles from home with a dead phone from my old vendor because of it.

8. Yes, I have CREDO Wireless (as well as their long distance & credit card).
I just moved to their wireless from AT&T Wireless, which I loved, but I couldn't stay with them after realizing how involved they were with the government in reference to invading Americans' privacy.

I think that CREDO uses Sprint. (I'm not sure because the bill comes from CREDO.) I realize that Sprint may have also been involved in the same things that AT&T was, but I am at least helping progressive causes by going through CREDO.

I have to say that so far I'm not really happy with the service. I don't know whether it's the phone (I have a Katana), the service itself or user error on my part. My husband and I have always shared a phone, and I just recently got my own, so that may be part of it.

However, there are times when people will have called me and the phone didn't ring even though the phone shows that the call is there. I've also had difficulty with calls connecting after the phone rings.

So far, I'm not really happy. However, I'll probably stay with them.

9. Yes -- been with them now for about a dozen years.
Don't have that phone though, but their services isvery reliable and dependable: few if any dropped calls, large service area ( I think they're on the Sprint backbone).

Great organization.

11. We've beenusing them for a long time, too.
The only problem we had was recently when the phone my husband got in July fell apart. Right before it fell apart, he called and the cs rep wouldn't do anything to help. After it broke, he called again and that rep put a phone in the mail the same day.

10. My friend uses the - basically it's Sprint
But setup so it benefits Working Assets. So really the question is - does Sprint suck or not. So far my friend has had no problems with it.
