14) Travel accountant / cost accountant - another defense contractor

I studied films of Bower Bird mating behaviors...(google them they are neat birds) and I got to do such exciting things as count how many times a male bird squawked before mating....and things like did he display his red spot and how many times and how long did courtship last. But the squawking thats what I remember the most.....
On edit: I suppose you could say I was an expert in bird copulation behavior..Yes I watched birds having sex all day....

Paper boy when I was a kid,

Janitor at Greater Pittsburgh Airport (midnight shift because my dad was the boss). did get to drive the big old (smelly, dirty) riding vaccuum. I did this for a few years on weekends and when school was out.

My first job after college was managing a leather crafts store that Radio Shack used to own. That job got me to the Philly area.

Bookkeeper at a Wonder Bread factory.

Accounting clerk at a mortgage servicing company. Was promoted to Commercial Escrow manager and did that til the RTC took us over.

Reconciled portfolio sales for a RTC contractor after leaving the mortgage company.

Took the civil service exam after the RTC shop left for Maryland. Got on the list and got a job as Fiscal Officer at a county agency. Got promoted to Fiscal Administrator last year.

21. Long, eclectic and weird:
Babysitter

Drugstore delivery lad (not far removed from regular drug dealer - those old folks really wanted their pills!)

Warehouse worker (Interesting way for a 16 year-old to learn a bit about the world)

Video store clerk (A dream job at the time - free movies!)

Warehouse again (actually about three different warehouse jobs after moving to Montreal)

Cutlery counter (Counting knives, forks and spoons does get boring after a while, believe it or not)

Stripper (Okay, okay, FURNITURE stripper)

Dishwasher (one and only flirtation with the food service industry - lasted three shifts)

Camera assistant (dream job time again - working in the movies!)

Props buyer/maker (ditto)

Actor (Nude scene - so the stripper gag above sort of applies here for real)

Artist's Model (ditto)

Cinematographer

Writer (books, articles, screenplays etc. - ongoing)

Director (movies, music videos, documentaries, what-have-you - actual dream job time, also ongoing)

Newspaper editor (an interesting detour)

40. Hmm... I've got a rather odd list.
1) Can't really call it a job, but I did get paid every now and then for various things related to music in high school. A string quartet here, something for chorus there, ect. ect.

2) Worked at Target. Mostly in the Toys and Sporting Goods department, but a little bit in Electronics and Health and Beauty and all the other non-clothes areas.

3) Little Caesar's. Sucked. First (and to date only) job I've ever just walked out on. Every other job I've had I've either given two weeks notice before I left, or in the case of the next job, the job itself went under with no warning.

3a) At the same time I started making prop lightsabers and selling them on eBay. Didn't make a whole lot of money off of it, but it was a few extra bucks here and there.

4) Small pizza place. Great until the business was sold to a guy who had a habit of trying to 'fix' things, even when they weren't broken. It takes a LOT of work to drive a pizza place near TWO college campuses (Community college on one side, regular college on the other.) into the ground. So the job went under suddenly, I didn't get my last month's worth of pay, and at the same time my phone company made a 200 dollar mistake on my bill and cut off my phone, making it rather difficult for me to find a new job. No phone, couldn't afford gas, and I didn't live near any shopping or business centers... not a pleasant situation.

5) UPS - Warehouse work. The irony of how I found this job has not been lost on me. In the aforementioned paragraph, my phone got cut off. Well... the mistake on the phone bill was in the internet portion of the bill. The irony here is that they forgot to cut off my internet for another two months. So I found this job online. Although I would have found a job anyway because a few days later the gas station around the corner and the pharmacy across the street both put up 'help wanted' signs. But I stuck with the warehouse job because it had free health insurance.

5a) At the same time as I was working nights at UPS, Freelance computer programming/interface design. Just some freelance stuff, didn't get a whole lot out of it. My programming knowledge isn't really up to snuff, so I was just doing some of the grunt work while the regular programmer did the in depth stuff.

And now the freelance work has run out, and I quit UPS to move up here. And I'm back in school. If I can find a part-time job that'll fit my whacky schedule I'm game. I don't even care what it is, since I don't have much in the way of bills to pay. So I don't have to be picky. Just needs to fit around my schedule.
