What is the deal with the Name Deleted posts in GDP?

WHy are there so many posts removed from GDP? I lurk over there alot, adn I always see posts saying Name Removed or Deleted. Is that where the poster removes their own post? I just assumed if the admin removed a post, it would just disappear.

2. Usually that means someone has personally attacked someone

and the mods remove those posts.

I post infrequently over there, but you're totally right, the attacks can get pretty nasty. It drags the energy down of the whole forum, in my opinion, but some people really seem to get off on that shit. Too bad.

I do like to get into a pissing contest every so often, but mostly like the lounge feel the best. After checking out other sited and DU, it was clear that DU was the place for me.
