On my way home from Mass I found a dozen beautiful long |
|
stemmed roses lying in the street with their bouquet wrapping still around them, frozen solid, ten white, two red ones. Ever since I have been conjecturing what might have happened - a break up or an accidental loss??? Anyway, I took them home and put them in a vase with warm water - so far they are still hanging their heads. I bet they have an interesting story to tell - if only they could speak.

1. Too bad you didn't have a camera. |
|
That would have made an excellent photograph. I've thrown away a bouquet before; I think somebody was pissed.

2. Maybe someone could tell... |

...they were bought at the last minute by someone who has a problem with planning things, when they ran out of red ones and they had to get the rest in white, and someone else got ticked about it. The combination of white and red ones is almost as interesting to me as the fact they were in the street.
(P.S. I'm the DUer you met at the Dean meetup a few months ago! Say hi to your husband for me too! :hi:)

3. I may have to write a poem or a story about that. |
|
I often make up stories when I see something unusual laying in the street or along my walk.

4. maybe the bouquet suffered the same fate my purse once did |
|
I put it (containing a lifeline of stuff, as all purse carriers can attest to) on the roof of our car while we clicked our small kids into their car seats.
My husband drove off and it was only after I got home, unloaded the kids and was in the house that I noticed it missing.
We backtracked and found it on the side of the road where we had turned a sharp corner.
