Puff balls, play mice, a string from god knows where . . .

Petey has the usual coloring, blue eyes and nystagmus of a Siamese, and the weight of a Maine coon. He's the sweeeeetest big fat lump of cat. He gets in the lap and makes needlepoint biscuits, and the rare occasions that he actually lays in the lap are such a treat that one will sit until the bladder bursts before making him get down.

Petey is a gentle and tender soul. We believe he is "special." And I wouldn't trade him for the universe.

1. I used to have a cat that looked just like him
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 08:44 AM by MissMillie
His mamma was a calico, I saw her. We're guessing daddy was Siamese.

He actually used to play tag with my son. Seriously--tag.

Here is my Newman at 8 months (with kitten Millie). He got much darker, like your Petey, as he got older.

3. What's the Siamese tag-player's name?
Adorable photo. Did you knit the thing they're on?

7. Nice job!
I never know if those things are called blankets, throws, afghans... my sister knitted (crocheted?) one for us for xmas, but it stays in a drawer because the cats will ruin it. :(

:hi:

11. the calico mamma
The cat we had with kinda similar colors was from the litter our calico had. His dad was a korat.
Cosmo's got orange instead of brown but it's the same type of marks, and he's HUGE. He lives with my husband's parents now.

:)

My cat Widget (who rivals Petey in size) turned 15 on St Patrick's Day. His eyes are getting cloudy and he lumbers down the stairs, but is eating and drinking well (despite losing a few pounds.) He coughs a bit more than usual, but he still seems happy and pain-free. I love him dearly.

When do you start your new job??

lots of calls from agencies but nothing has resulted in an interview yet.

8. Your Petey is almost a twin for my StirFry.
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 09:11 AM by SOteric
StirFry's colourpoints are a bit darker, and his coat is a tad longer. Not quite a long hair, more like the Maine Coons you reference. Though not fat even according to his vet, StirFry is an 18 lb. cat, but with a gentle, almost poetic little kitty soul.

9. You make even a cat-thread post sound like literature.
I'm not worthy. Really :)

StirFry is a great name for a cat.

Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 07:53 AM by bertha katzenengel
He still gets that look, often. We just think he was born just one puff ball short of a toybox.
