Have a beer on me, passed my physical and start my new job tomorrow morning |
|
I was having problems taking the physical (passed the drug test and base physical) due to my blood pressure being too high for the lifting tests (something like 156/116). Turns out I had pneumonia and that was not helping. Well, today my BP was 138/80 and I was able to finish the physical and I start work tomorrow.
Good job and a really cool boss, just he and I running the tech dept (we even had our interview outside while we smoked). Benefits and better pay than the crap job I had 2 weeks ago.
I am really excited about this job am glad I finally got it - was worried I wouldn't when they couldn't test me, but he didn't want anyone else for the position so they waited.
Finally something really cool to celebrate - and to top it all off my daughter is getting another award at school this week - most improved. When she started 1st grade she was at early kindergarten level of reading, but she took off with it and is now one of only 3 kids in her class already at 2nd grade level and she now reads books to me at night. Plus she is doing superb in math.
So celebrate a spell with me, have a few cold ones on the ole Straight Story.
Maybe my luck is finally changing and the last few hellish years will slide into the memory banks and be buried by something good.

5. If I could not pass the test to lift and move 60lbs |
|
which they would not administer if my BP was too high....so I was sweating it.

They just wanted to make sure you can handle any physical lifting that might be required on the job.
Best of luck in your new job!!
