We just got back from seeing the J.M.W. Turner art exhibit in Dallas
It's at the Dallas Museum of Art until sometime in May. ginbarn wanted to see Turner's oil and watercolor works, and so we went and got our minds blown. Absolutely gorgeous! It seems like he entered an impressionist period before his death in 1851, and his works during his later years influenced French impressionists, among others.

If you already have seen "The Power of Art" with narration by Simon Schama, rent it on Netflix or wherever. There is a segment on Turner that will really blow your mind.

2. I'll have to check that out, thanks!
One of the Turner works at the Dallas exhibit that floored me was Temple of Poseidon at Sunion, Cape Colonna. And that was a watercolor?!? Are they kidding me? Seriously, it was phenomenal.

4. You bet!
We were blown away by his use of color. Regulus was a dazzling recreation of the repurcussions of a barbaric Carthaginian punishment. Whoa.
